The outsourcing industry in Bulgaria will continue to grow fast

In 2016, the outsourcing industry contributed to 3.6% of Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP), or 1.5 billion euro. By 2020, these numbers are expected to grow to 4.2% or 2.5 billion euro.

The outsourcing industry generates 6.5% of the total salarycosts and represents 5% of all social security contributions paid in the economy in 2016, and these indicators are expected to double in the next four years predicts Plamen Tsekov – a board member of the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association. The association unites companies from all areas of the outsourcing industry and aims to establish Bulgaria as the world's leading outsourcing destination and preferred reliable partner, says Plamen Tsekov.

Employees in the industry a year ago were nearly 48,000 people, and by 2020 they are expected to exceed 62,500 people. At present, 80 percent of the industry operates in the territory of Sofia, but three more centers are being prepared - in Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas, said Vladimir Danailov - CEO of Sofia Municipal Agency for Privatization and Investments. According to Danailov,there’s market specialization in the field of outsourcing of financial and accounting services andthe management of human resources.
